Are You One Redeemed?
I wonder, are you one redeemed? Do you know that you are “one in particular?” That God loves you as a unique individual…. there is no one else who he created to be like you. That he knew and loved you before you were even born (Jeremiah 1:5). That he has worked in and through every circumstance that he has allowed in your life to make you a completely unique person who he wants to be in a love relationship with and use in his plan.

Are you “redeemed?” Have you allowed Jesus to “buy you back” from the chains of sin? Have you trusted him to free you from having your emotions be controlled by the past or present circumstances that cause you distress or harm? Have you allowed him to “change you for the better” both in how you view yourself and how you relate to others? Have you been able to recognize that Jesus has made you “worthwhile” and therefore cease trying to fully determine your worth through ways outside of your relationship with God?

Mission of One Redeemed
One Redeemed is the speaking ministry of Dr. Courtney Putnam. Courtney passionately believes that God has designed for us to walk as individuals redeemed by the grace of God, so that we are able to embrace our identity in Christ and live in God-honoring relationships with those around us. Through Courtney’s lifelong journey, God has taught her the truth that God desires for us to “walk in the land of the living” (Psalm 116:9) even in the midst of the day to day struggles which can weigh us down. Courtney seeks to live this way everyday, and absolutely loves getting the chance to share this way of living with others. Courtney thoroughly enjoys leading workshops and seminars to encourage and equip women’s groups, teenagers, and couples to live in redeemed relationships with God, self, and others.

In addition to leading seminars and workshops, Courtney also invests her life in walking alongside hurting people in her counseling practice at Counseling Services of Austin. She is a licensed professional counselor and a licensed marriage and family therapist. She especially enjoys working with couples, focusing on issues such as communication, forgiveness, trust-building, healthy sexuality, and marriage enrichment. She also works with individuals, focusing on issues such as relational difficulties, anxiety, anger management, depression, grief, stress, spiritual concerns, and other issues.

Courtney has served as Adjunct Faculty for the Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy program at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and is currently serving as an Online Adjunct Professor for Liberty University in the Center for Counseling and Family Studies. She has taught courses in Clinical Marriage and Family Assessment, Family Development, Human Sexuality, Career Counseling, Group Counseling, Abnormal Psychology, Ethics, Health Psychology, and Adult Psychology.

Courtney received a Ph.D. in Psychology and Counseling from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. She has done extensive research on Reconciliation-Focused Counseling, the Christian therapy model developed by her colleague at CSOA, Dr. Asa Sphar. This counseling model is designed to help people who are struggling in the issues of every day life begin to walk in redeemed relationships with God, self, and others. In addition to her doctoral degree, she has received an M.A. in Professional Counseling from Richmont Graduate University (formerly PSI) in Atlanta, GA, a Masters of Theology from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Religious Studies from Louisiana State University.

Courtney and her husband Alan recently celebrated their twelfth anniversary. She is so thankful to God (and to Alan J) for all the ways that he goes out of his way to “make her a champion” and she thoroughly enjoys serving alongside him in ministry. Alan serves as the Student Minister at First Baptist Church of Florence, Texas. Courtney and Alan have one son, two year old Wyatt.
